Coursework for Unit 5 must meet the following requirements:

  • The folder should consist of one essay of approximately 2500 words which compares two texts.
  • One text must be prose and both must originally have been written in English.
  • Texts set for other Units cannot be used, even if the candidate has not studied them - but texts set for LA5W (the written alternative) may be used.
  • All texts and tasks must be approved by the moderator, who will also advise on other aspects of the course and conduct local meetings.
